A clinician checks the hair so we treat the people who actually have lice or eggs.
Lice Clinics of America Northwest treats head lice in the clinic with AirAllé, an FDA-cleared device that uses controlled heated air. The visit is done by a trained clinician. It is not a pesticide rinse you take home and hope works.
What AirAllé does
AirAllé is a heated-air device made for head lice. A clinician applies a precise combination of temperature, airflow, and time across the scalp. That air dehydrates lice and their eggs. Because the treatment is physical, lice that survive drugstore chemicals are still affected.
Lice Clinics of America reports a clinical study of more than 500 people with a 99.2% success rate for this device, and offers a 30-day guarantee. Those figures come from the national clinical program for AirAllé, and the same device is what we use in our Northwest clinics.
The AirAllé device is moved through the hair in a set pattern. The air is hot enough to kill lice and eggs, and controlled so the scalp can tolerate it.
A Signature AirAllé appointment is about an hour. Most families do not need a second chemical treatment at home.
How this differs from a store treatment
- Drugstore products are pesticides. Many lice are resistant to them, which is why families treat again and still find bugs.
- AirAllé does not rely on those chemicals. The clinician does the application, so the hard part is not left to a bathroom and a fine-tooth comb alone.
- Eggs are the usual reason lice come back. The heated-air step is aimed at eggs as well as the insects that are already moving.
Which service is available, including Signature AirAllé, depends on the clinic and the day. Call and we will tell you what to book.
